Ret on The Net

Intrigued?? Yes, so was I, which is why I had to call them and find out what this was all about. Well, I didn't know much about antiques then, and still don't, but I can now safely say, "I know a man who does." I met up with Dave Skinner and his partner Tracey, the founders of www.retonthenet.co.uk  to find out a little more about their business and how they had started out. Their's is definitely a story of strength and determination, against the odds and their enthusiasm was infectious.
From very humble beginnings they have overcome many obstacles to start their own antiques business.

Dave's passion began at the tender age of 8 and over the past 25 years he has read, researched, studied and collected vintage items.
With the help of the Iain scott Enterprise Island, the Business venture group and the Get Started team in Blackpool, Dave has been able to realise his dream....selling his beloved antiques to customers all over the country and the world via his brand new web store. Dave has original items dating as far back as the 1880s. In addition to this, they offer a bespoke range of products  called "Vintage Visuals". These are a range of antique items presented in a modern day manner. They are also specialising in vintage and Retro bicycles. A real blast from the past!!
At retonthenet they strongly believe in the 3 "R's" Recycling-Reusing-Reinventing. So you can be safe in the knowledge that buying from them, you to are doing your bit for the environment.
Ret on the Net is a real family affair, with Tracey's young son, Ryan Cregan, also helping out in his spare time. That is of course when he is not following his other passion....singing. Ryan is definitely one to watch out for and can be seen (and heard) at various venues across Blackpool entertaining throughout the Summer season, and all this at the ripe old age of 11.  I have added a link through to Ryan on YouTube....Blackpool has, without doubt, got talent.

Good luck to them all, from the Blackpool Town team.
